JUDITH H. O'DELL CPA, CVA
Judy has over 38 years of public accounting experience starting with a local firm in Iowa, moving to the Philadelphia office of Touche Ross & Co (now Deloitte & Touche) and then to several smaller firms, serving as managing partner of Beucler Kelly & Irwin in Wayne, PA for 13 years. During most of her career her client base has consisted of closely held family businesses. In 2000 she obtained the Certified Valuation Analyst designation. She founded O’Dell Valuation Consulting LLC in 2002 and has limited the practice to business valuation, litigation services and succession planning.
In addition to her accounting practice, Judy chairs the Private Companies Financial Reporting Committee. The PCFRC is part of a broad initiative by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB or “the Board”) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to further improve the FASB's current standard-setting process to better meet the financial reporting needs of private companies and the users of their financial statements. As chair of the PCFRC she speaks extensively throughout the United States on private company accounting issues. She was named one of Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People in 2007, 2008 and 2009 for her role as chair of PCFRC. She serves on the Audit Advisory Committee of the US Government Accountability Office.
She is a past trustee of the Financial Accounting Foundation which is responsible for overseeing, funding and appointing members of the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board where she served as Treasurer and chaired the audit committee. She is a former member of the board of directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants having previously served on many committees and task forces of that organization.
In addition she has written and taught continuing education courses for Practitioners Publishing Company.
Her community activities consist of serving on the Board of Maine Media Workshops. She is a past a trustee of Immaculata University from which she graduated with a BA in Economics.
